Yup, just change the host_name option in the host definition. There's also the alias option if you want to use different names for different purposes. Go to Configure->Core Config Manager->Hosts and navigate to your host. You should see the option once you're there. From there, just save and hit apply configuration.

It should have been set at install time but you can change it by going to
Admin -> Reset Security Credentials

Enter the password you want in "New Config Manager Admin Password:"
click Update Credentials

Then login to the CCM with nagiosadmin and your new password

a) host_name option in the host definition. How do I get to this screen?
b) the hosts in the HostManagement screen are different and not complete compared to the hosts in host details screen.

Im just trying to rename the IP to the host name, how do I do this? Please send a step by step. thanks.

Go to
Configure->Core Config Manager->Hosts
search for the IP you want to change
click the modify icon for that host
Change the Host Name* field to what you want
Click Save
Click Apply Configuration

That does not appear to be possible currently in the CCM or in the main Home tab.
