Hi,

We got a requirement from a user. He is asking us to monitor a URL on a Load Balancer. He has provided the IP Address of the Load Balancer.

But this IP address is not pinging from Nagios server.

Also he did not provide host name of the Load Balancer.

When I informed the user that IP address is not pinging from Nagios server, he replied that Load Balancer is in Azure and ICMP is disabled and there is no hostname for Azure Load Balancer.

Is it possible to set up URL monitoring on this Load Balancer?

Sure, URL monitoring doesn't require ICMP (ping) access.
