Monitoring Bandwith of a network card

Hello

It's kinda weard, that Nagios XI doesn't offer to monitor a port of a server's network card by default. If i select "Linux SNMP" at the "Configuration Wizard", Nagios presents on page 2 some usual server metrics to monitor, except the network card.

I have understand, that Nagios Network Analyzer is available to buy, but that's not an option.

Any idea, how to monitor the ports of the network card of the servers?

Thanks!

Martin

Hi Martin,

If those ports are available over SNMP, you might try the SNMP WalkWizard in Nagios XI.

Using the SNMP Walk Wizard

Hi Benjamin,

That's refreshing, that i need to walk through SNMP to get the network card. Every other monitoring software i used since the dark middle age is able to present a network card as a device.

But thanks for the advice!

Cheers

Hi Martin,

I can put a feature request in for adding that to the Linux SNMP Wizard. The other option is to use the Switch/Router Wizard.
