Hi,

Currently i have nagios XI 5.6.10 and using sendmail (through mailbox [email protected] ) to send notifications to customers, and we are currently monitoring those mail servers too, if the server or service is down nagios alerts cant be delivered to users. Is there a way for Nagios to send alerts even if sendmail is down?

Thanks.

There are couple of options (and maybe more) that can be used.

For the first one, you don't need a device, but you need to set up an account with Twilio. Read more on Twilio SMS Integration with Nagios XI here:

https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ith_XI.pdf

For the second one, you would need to have a MultiConnect® rCell Series Router from MultiTech. More info here:

Hope this helps.

Sure, you can use SMTP too. If you go to Admin > System Config > Email Settings, you will see (under the Outbound tab) that there are two "Send Method" options - Sendmail and SMTP. You can use either one.
