Hi guys,

I'm pretty new to using Nagios and I'm setting it up to monitor our systems,

My question is, We have 2 sites connected by an extreamly slow VPN connection (roughly 50KBs) Rather than have one nagios box moniting it all i was thinking it would be better to have 2 then get the main site box to pull the information accross from the remote site at selected intervals.

Would anyone out there know if this is possibal or can think of a better way to do this?

I believe the check_disk plugin returns information on inode usage. For setting up the check on the remote server, the following tutorials cover that decently well, although the version of the nagios plugins and nrpe are a bit out of date, but you can get the latest versions from nagios.org.
