Sender name in SMTP settings

Hey all,

I have searched through documentation, but cannot find where to adjust the (default) mail templates from the interface.
We have configured the SMTP mailing settings, so mail is being sent from [email protected]
Even though we have "Send From:" filled in, emails are still from Root User (as defined in: /usr/local/nagiosxi/html/includes/phpmailer/class.phpmailer.php)

I can change it of course, but after every update it's reset top default

Question, how will the system "honor" my settings in "Send From", or how can I set the sender correct from the interface.

Thanks!

Arjan

Hello Arjan,

You should be able to just change the Send From option in the Email Settings and then select the Update Settings button. Does is it save the information correctly?

If it's not honoring the settings field then perhaps it's not writing to the database correctly. Please send over your system profile so we can check the logs.

Thanks.

To send us your system profile.
Login to the Nagios XI GUI using a web browser
Click the "Admin" > "System Profile" Menu
Click the "Download Profile" button
Save the profile.zip file and share this in a private message and then reply to this post to bring it up in the queue.

Hi Benjamin,

After applying the setting (in our case the name) the sent from name is still Root User.
The sender email is correct, that's the authentication email address.

Only when I change the class.phpmailer.php file it shows what's in there, so if I make tit Santa Claus, I will get messages from the north pole :)

I will PM the profile.

Cheers!

@benjamin

I'd love to send a message, but... I am not allowed: "We are sorry, but you are not authorised to use this feature. You may have just registered here and may need to participate more to be able to use this feature. "

Cheers
