Alerts suprresion for down hosts

Post by shivangi »

Hi team ,

1. I am using Nagios core and i have kept my host notifications disabled , and i noticed that it automatically supresses the critiical service alerts for that host . Is this the way nagios works ?? Also it was working that way but suddenly it threw notifications for the crirtical services for the down hosts . Please suggest . what is this abnormal behaviour og nagios .

2. Also sometimes mail notifications are also not sent out .

Please help here !!!!!!!!

Thanks in advance

Can you clarify what you mean by it suppressing critical service alerts? Please provide screenshots and/or logs to help demonstrate the behavior.

Regarding service notifications, they will not be sent out if the host is down. Per https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... tions.html:
If the host is in hard non-OK state, notifications for services on this host won't be sent out.
As of May 25th, 2018, all communications with Nagios Enterprises and its employees are covered under our new Privacy Policy.
