After Update NRPE Checks don't work

I just upgraded to NagiosXI 5.6.14 using the updater on the Admin page. The updater says it finished successfully but now none of my NRPE checks work. All of them report Service State: Unknown and I get the following on checks: Could not construct return packet in NRPE handler check client side (nsclient.log) logs...
Looks like I lost a custom icon from a set in NagVis but that is an easy fix.
Thanks

I narrowed it down to a version mis-match between the XI server and the NSCLIENT++ on the windows machine.
Now my issue is that when i run my check all I get is: Unknown command(s): check_winfile
I have check_winfile.exe in the nscliet++ folder and check_winfile.py in the scripts folder.

I finally gave up and restored back to the point preceding the update. The NRPE checks are pretty important in my environment and NAGVIS didn't seem to recognize the ACK icon in any icon set and constantly displayed ERROR instead of ACK.

It's difficult to troubleshoot the issue after the fact - you already restored your system back. In most of the cases, NRPE issues are caused by a mismatch between NRPE versions on the server and on the client. I suspect that you should've upgraded your NSClient++ version as well, but this is just a guess. We always recommend trying any major changes on your system, e.g. upgrades in a test environment first, before applying them to production. This is why, you are provided with 3 IPs.
