Hi,

Is SELinux supported by Nagios 5.6.13? OS version is RHEL 6.x and RHEL 7.x
Our IT Security want to enable SELinux and I need official reply from Nagios if it is not supported to apply for exclusions.

Info required
1. Why it is not supported?
2. What is the plan/timeline to enable support.

Please assist on this. An email to me will do.

Thanks.

Presently, we don't have an official SELinux poilicy package for Nagios XI, and operating in enforcing mode is not currently supported. While we get inquiries about SELinux support, it's not something the we currently have on the Nagios XI roadmap. If this is an important requirement for your environment, please let me know and I will notify our product development manager.

Hello,

Just wanted to add to this post that I've been asking for SELinux support since december 2018, see https://support.nagios.com/forum/viewto ... t=+SELinux

Imho, this is a basic feature we need to achieve compliance...

We live in a different world now. Everybody gets paranoid when they hear Enhanced Linux Security needs to be disabled. Explaining this to people is a nightmare. Hope Nagios addresses this or at least provide a way to have SELinux enabled by relaxing some of its features.

I sent PM, email to you and Scott. No answer at all.
I expected better service from Nagios. This is not acceptable.

Hi @rajasegar,

My apologies. I have submitted your request as a feature request. The decision to implement this is up to the development manager at Nagios.

At this time, I don't have any new information as to when and if this will be implemented. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Benjamin
