Hi,

We are planning to upgrade our Nagios xi server OS from centos 6 to centos 7. Nagios services are managed by CRM clusters and file resources using DRBD. So Kinldy advise is there any issue in upgrading the centos?

My recommendation would be to set up a new instance with the current version you are using and run the backup and restore procedure and then upgrade to the latest version.

The integration with DRBD is currently not a supported Nagios XI feature. I would recommend the Linbit solution for setting up HA with Nagios XI on the new instance.

Thanks for the information. What about the centos 8 new version , How can we move from centos 6 to centos 8?

We will be providing support for CentOS 8 soon, but it is not currently available.

Usually the easiest way to migrate a Nagios server is to perform a backup and restore. Please refer to the following linked documentation on exactly how to do this.

Do we have any timelines to support CentOS 8? Basically, I would like to know whether I can proceed to downgrade my current operating system to CentOS 7, or should I wait?

We do not have an expected date for supporting CentOS 8, but it should only be a month or two more before we can accommodate the changes to the OS.

We will be releasing Nagios version 5.7 in early June. Please keep an eye out as it includes many improvements to the software.
