sql query to identfify the sql sever hostname in nagios DB

Hi ,

We have Nagios XI installed , we have access to nagios database from backend ..would like to know how to get the list of the all the sql server hostname (sql query ) which are hosting the sql server database in order to implement the database monitors .

And also would like to know which are critical monitors which needs to monitored through Nagios for sql server database like buffer cache hit ratio etc

Sorry for the late response but it looks like this was submitted to the Community forum. Since you're a XI customer you should post to the Customer XI forums to ensure a quick response.

It's not completely clear to me what you're trying to achieve or why you would need a sql query to get it, but if you're using mssql here's an article on how to get the hostname: https://www.c-sharpcorner.com/blogs/sql ... is-running.

For the other checks I would suggest running the wizards which will give you some default check options to consider.
