CentOS Version 8 on the OVA

We need to upgrade our CentOS version 6 that hosts Nagios XI. If the ova will be upgraded to version 8 soon, I would rather wait and just skip over 7. Does anyone know if / when that is planned for release?

We were told by support that RHEL8 support was in 5.7 which was due out in the next few months (set for Q2 2020 in the Nagios XI roadmap). I would that means that Centos 8 versions of the OVA would be out around same time.

CentOS 8 should be supported on Nagios XI 5.7.0 when it is released, not exact date is available at this time.

Has anyone heard any new information about this. Last I checked about a week ago, this was still CentOS 7.

Specifically on the OVA, I am lazy!

5.7.x is released and will install on a clean minimal install of CentOS 8, but there is no date planned to switch our pre-created ova to CentOS 8.

In the past, we have waited until new major OS releases have had several minor releases before considering switching the pre-built OVA's to them.

I would suspect it would be at least 6 months before we would change to build the OVA on CentOS 8
