All Hosts and Services stuck as 'Pending' after upgrade.

We upgraded to 5.7.1 yesterday and things were working fine except for a couple cross-checks that our XI servers use to monitor each other. While updating the services to match what gets created via the Nagios XI wizard, we noticed that all hosts and services are now stuck in the 'pending' state, and showing that the Last Check and Next Check are both zeroed out to 1970-01-01. We tried restoring a configuration snapshot but that didn't make a difference.
We restored from a backup, prior to any configuration changes, but after upgrade to 5.7.1. Still have the same problem.
We saw this has been reported by a few other people, but not resolved. One person reported this in upgrading to 5.7.0 and were told to upgrade to 5.7.1 to fix the problem. Later someone was told that something will be fixed in about another month. Another person was told to create a private ticket. Others were chided for adding to the other posts with 'me too', so I am creating this separate post. We also have a support ticket created, but that seems to be a futile route for anything critical or after hours.
This is a production down scenario for us, as we use Nagios to monitor critical customer environments. We are flying blind and will not be able to maintain any SLA's, etc.
