How to restart Nagios XI VM?

Some things with Nagios seem harder than one would expect. :-(

After doing a few first steps yesterday I had suspended the Nagios XI VM (which I had created from the nagiosxi-5.7.2-64.ova using VMware Workstation on Windows 10).

When I resumed the VM today I had to learn that it seems "dead". I got no reaction whatsoever from the webserver.
So I nilly-willy rebootet the VM (actually several times by now) but when I login as root/nagiosxi at the console prompt it always greets me with "Access Nagios XI as http://[]", i.e. for some reason it doesn't seem to get an IP address (or fails to re-initialize its networking).

How do I get this beast reacting again?

Or should I simply start over from the .ova file?

Ah - I just realized. I am on a WLAN this time. The first time I was on an Ethernet. To my knowledge a WiFi adapter can not have multiple addresses and the VM used bridged mode. I guess I'll try with NATed mode.

That will probably fix it

Nope - also on Ethernet I get "Access Nagios XI as http://[]".
What am I missing?

OK - a "shutdown -r now" and a subsequent restart did the trick. Obviously just a "reboot" is not sufficient...
