Hello Team,

Recently we have migrated Nagios XI servers from Physical to VM's for one of the server we have noticed SNMPTRAP sender is not sending any trap to Servicenow.

We have manually triggered alert for one of the server service and attached the configuration for investigation. Please help us resolve this issue at the earliest.

Output:
[root@XXXXXXX ~]# tail -f /usr/local/nagiosxi/var/eventman.log

HI Vignesha,

When you migrated to the VM, did the IP address changed? If so, verify that you have the correct settings in the SNMP Trap Sender component. Please post a screenshot of the settings to the ticket.

Also, please enable debug logging, send another test trap and post the log to the thread.

Thank you.
Benjamin

Hello Benjamin,
After migrated to VM, same IP address has been assigned and older servers decommissioned. As requested, please find SS and logs for reference.

Note:
We have migrated our other Nagios XI servers and no issues found over there.

Logs:
[root@xxxxxxx ~]# tail -f /usr/local/nagiosxi/var/eventman.log

Hello Benjamin,

Could you please help us to resolve the issue at the earliest, dedicated team manually monitoring operation screen and based on alerts they are manually creating ticket and assigning to respective team and its really a pain full job, if the issue get resolved SNMPTRAP will directly send to particular port based on that alert will be picked up for auto ticket creation.

Have a nice day
Thanks,
Vigneshwar

Hi Vigneshwar,

Thanks for posting the screenshots. The fact that there is nothing in the evenman.log suggests that the system is acting like the snmp trap sender is not enabled.

Let's disable the trap sender. Save it, logout, login back in, enable it and save the settings.

Can you post the output of the following log /usr/local/nagiosxi/var/components/snmptrapsender.log?

A fresh system profile would also help us troubleshoot this further. Thank you for your patience, Benjamin

To send us your system profile.
Login to the Nagios XI GUI using a web browser.
Click the "Admin" > "System Profile" Menu
Click the "Download Profile" button
Save the profile.zip file and share in a private message or upload it to the post/ticket, and then reply to this post to bring it up in the queue.
