Nagios XI and Distributed Deployments

Greetings,

I'm getting set to make the jump to Nagios XI in the next month or so. Our current Nagios Core server is fairly overloaded and I'm hoping to move to a distributed model with Nagios XI. I could use some assistance identifying what the best distributed model is.

Ultimately, I'd like a model that allows for a single master server, pushing configurations to the slave systems. But, I'm concerned about potential outages if any of the servers fail. Is there a model that will survive a server failure, especially if the failed server is the master? Or is it, perhaps, better to have a distributed install with a small Nagios Core server elsewhere monitoring the Nagios XI servers?

Thanks!

Jason

We do have some documentation on common high availability options
http://library.nagios.com/library/produ ... ty-options

As of know we don't have in place a way to manage or exit configs on a central and push them out to satellite servers.

We do have an option for viewing all of your remotes in one location, it is called Fusion. We have a preview of the 2012 features here
