Issue with VM Converter

Post by cebicnagios »

Hello all, we are trying to deploy XI to our ESX server by using the vCenter converter Standalone. The conversion gets ALL THE WAY to 100% and then fails. The error message is:

Code: Select all

FAILED: An error occurred during the conversion: 'The operation experienced a network error'
. In the log, it says

Code: Select all

Error: Unable to clone disk C:\Users\(myusername)\Desktop\NXI-VMI\nagiosxi-2011r2.4-vmware\nagiosxi\nagiosxi.vmdk
. Has anyone ran into this and/or been able to resolve it? Your help is appreciated

Edit I have attached the log export from the converter

vCenter Converter may fail if one or more required ports are blocked. Please, check out the link bellow:

Hope this helps.

I verified that the ports were allowed, and retried. The same thing happened where it got all the way to 100% and failed.

I was not able to recreate this issue. I converted successfully Nagios XI VMware VM using the VMware Converter, and was able to open it in our vSphere server (Version 5.0.0). What is the version of your ESX server? What is the version of the VMware Converter that you are using?

It just dawned on us that we're running a pretty old version of ESX. We are reimaing our server to ESXi, so please stay tuned and we'll see how it goes.

Thanks,
