Hi everyone,

(sorry for my english its not my primary language)

im a windows ing ... but i use linux for nagios because its the best sotware i know for doing this job

but i update nagios to the latest version and now i have a ping problem for all my server randomly ...

i check all my server with my windows tool and all ping its correct on every machine thrust me and for verify that its true i reinstalled the snapshot of my vm before the upgrade and all ping is green and stable ...

what in new version can do this problem?

i follow the upgrade documentation and updated nagios and plugin pack ...

im on unbuntu 2.6 command only no gui

someone i hope you allready see this ... my linux understanding its very limited ... but im a old admin that know dos perfeclty i just looking for the the command in linux help for doing my linux job


i can send any config you need and post many screenshot as you want

(if you need to fix a problem on windows im your guy i can help in retour)

ps: i use nconf for the config

and i check with the command line in linux the check_ping command and its ok

(for now i disable any notifications on nagios for the ping ...)

but the map its like a christmas tree flashing between red and green
(when its critical i check continu with my ping -t in dos and its never broken or high) only nagios say its incorrect

What is the version of the plugin that you are using?

check_ping v1.4.15 (nagios-plugins 1.4.15)

i keep a copy of the old and ... i replace it this morning ...


all its come back to normal ... new nagios is bugy on unbuntu

Well I'm glad you have things working again, but it's unfortunate you had to roll everything back to do it.

ya but its weird

i cant update nagios

and if i check all my data all is wrong up to the 23 may when i updated nagios

the stat seem more normal now but i will check in 2 day to be sure

and its the same check_ping version i just checked
