Can multi-tenant users create their own hosts & services?

Hello,

I have another Nagios XI newb question.

I have read the docs on multi-tenancy support but they seem to be limited to what non-admin users can see once the objects are defined in Nagios.

We would like to create an environment in our Nagios server where two separate SysAdmin teams can not only view and modify existing hosts and services but also add them. Ideally we would make use of the API.

Is this possible? Has anyone else out there set up something similar?

Thanks,
Scott

Unfortunately, the fine-grained control over resources needed to manage multiple teams of administrators isn't possible in the current iteration of Nagios XI. There are two user levels: Admins and Users. Admins can change things, and Users cannot.

In lieu of having this control, if all the admins are employees, all one might need to do is have a company policy in place to prohibit malicious behavior. Then just use creative labelling to make sure it's obvious that something is only to be edited by Team A, e.g. setting the Host Alias to TEAM-A_mailhost.example.com.
