Nagios not working properly after CentOS update

Yesterday I applied an update to our dev and production servers with yum. It included what seemed to be a minor update to CentOS, so I rebooted when it was done. These servers monitor each other. A short while later, I noticed that they still said that a yum update was required. After rebooting and restarting (/etc/rc.d/init.d/nagios restart) a couple of times, the status was properly updated. This morning, it looked like the production server had not checked anything since yesterday at around that time. I re-ran the restart command as shown above and then checked the status with systemctl. It said 'Active (exited)'. I then restarted using systemctl instead. The status was then 'Active (running)'.
Although the dev server monitors the production server, it did not report that something wasn't right. So I'm just alerting you to this so that it might possibly be addressed in a future Nagios update.
Thanks.
Steve
