New user date, time, language defaults

As far as I understand, you can set default date, time and number format in Admin -> System settings -> User accounts -> Default user settings.
I did that, but when I want to create a new user via Admin -> Manage users -> Add new user I can see, that those preferences are not as they are set in default user settings. We are using Nagios XI v5.7.4

Hi alipoglavsek,
I have tested this on my Nagios XI and looks like it is working correctly for me.
I believed the "Admin -> System settings -> User accounts -> Default user settings" was over written by the "Admin -> Manage users -> Add new user > date format" settings under "Preferences" (picture below).

I checked again, but this doesn't work on our Nagios XI. Tryed in three different browser, also deleting browser cache ..

Those are global settings for new users:

This is what I get when I want to create new user account:

Hi alipoglavsek,
So what is happening is that what you have SET in the "System Settings" will always be used, but it is NOT. It will be overwritten by the "Add New User" page.

So, based on the two pictures you have posted in your last replied. The date/time format on picture #2 (Add New User) will override picture #1 (System Settings) because both date/time formats are different.

When you are in the process of creating a new user, the date/time format in that page (below) will override what you have set in the System Settings. If you want that date/time format to be the same as your "System Settings", you must SET the date/time format to be the same as your System Settings.

Hope this helps!!

Hi.

I understand you correctly, but I have thought that System settings will be offered when I open window Add new User.
But even if we change System settings, Add new user setting remains the same.
Is there any other way to set Default Date and Week format in Add new user window?

Thanks in advance.

Hi alipoglavsek,
I have spent time researching to see if there is a way to set the dropdown option to your choice but couldn't.
I also checked with our developments and QA teams but there isn't a way to default the dropdown to a different one unfortunately.

However, a better idea from our QA member is to use the REST API to create new user.
You can then set the "date_format" option to "3" as show in picture (below).

You can get more helpful hints from the "Help" section on your Nagios XI webpage:
Nagios XI GUI > Help > API Docs > System Reference > scroll down to the ("POST" system/user) section
