Distributed monitoring recommendation

Hi all,
We're running single NAgios instance over years and looking for enhancement like distributed monitoring. I setup NDOUtils with multiple Nagios instances. Events and configuration data can be written to the same MariaDB. However, seems unable to create a consolidated view of all instances' status on Nagios Web Interface - can only see each instance's own configuration/status. Did I miss anything? Do I need other tools like Nagvis ? Thanks a lot.
Besides distributed monitoring, we also look for other enhancement like SNMP handling.
I wonder if we'd better migrate to Nagios clones with all these features integrated. Would anyone shed some light on this topic?
