Option to update to 5.8 on Centos6?

Hello,
I tried to update one of our instances to 5.8 today and got a message saying I cannot update without running at least centos7. Is there a temporary work around to get this running while I work on switching all of our instances over to centos7? We are having issues with API calls that are addressed in 5.8 and need to upgrade asap.

Thank you

Hello jvaira,

Centos 6 is deprecated since 30 November 2020, see https://wiki.centos.org/About/Product

You should migrate to CentOS 7.

Hello Willem,
I plan to but have about ten instances of Nagios to migrate so am hoping there is a temporary workaround to update Nagios while I work on tackling the migration for each one.

Hi jvaira,

As a matter of policy, development does not provide patches for EOL systems or older versions of the software. What version of XI are you currently running and can you let us know what specific API issues you are having? I can take a look, there may be a workaround for now.

You can no longer run yum upgrade successfully on Cent 6, so I highly recommend migrating as soon as you can.

Best Regards,
Benjamin
