Hello!

Apologies if this is the wrong section...

We are using core v 4.4.5 and the person that set up nagios left the company without documenting the nsclient password for installing on servers. Any way i can find what the password is? i need to install nsclient on some new windows servers.

Thanks

Kinda depends on how NSClient++ was set up. There's a few different ways to skin that cat.

That's the source of truth for what a particular Windows machine's nscp service (process/service name for NSClient++) will accept as a password. It's pretty common to use the same password across multiple Windows machines, and to either store that in a Nagios Core macro (more secure) or either the check command or service check definition (less secure). Happy to explain either of those concepts in brief if you're not familiar, else this is a good place to start:
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ml#command
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ml#service

You might start with the NRPEServer block on one of your currently monitored Windows machine's nsclient.ini:
