Hi,

We are going to upgrade our current system from XI 5.6.14 to 5.8.1.

We are currently using Mod Gearman 3.0.7.

Is Mod Gearman 3.07 fully supported with XI 5.8.1 ?

I noticed that there is a newer version of Mod Gearman, version 3.3.0.

Is it recommended to upgrade Gearman to 3.3.0 to use XI 5.8.1?

If it recommended to upgrade Gearman, do we just follow the instructions in:

https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios_XI.pdf

Hi,

we upgraded a few days ago from Nagios XI 5.6.14 with mod_gearman 3.0.7 to Nagios XI 5.8.1 and everything seems to work fine.

Kind regards,
Peter

Peter, thanks for your input.

I would recommend keeping with version 3.0.7 (provided by our install/upgrade script in the doc), as that is the version we test against.

Let us know if you have any more questions.

Benjamin

Sorry I'm still a bit confused as to which version to use.

I tried a clean install on a test vm of Mod Gearman using the instructions in https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios_XI.pdf and it installed version 3.3.0.

I then tried running an upgrade on a test Mod Gearman worker server which is currently running 3.0.7 and the script errored out. I've attached the output.

Hi @andyb4u,

That sounds like a bug to me, the upgrade should bring it up to version 3.3.0. Let me check with the team on this one and I will follow up shortly.

Regards,
Benjamin

Hi Andy,

It's a bug, I'm working with QA on this right now. I should be able to get you a workaround or a patch for the upgrade script from development.

Best Regards,
Benjamin
