upgrade nagios appliance

Hi,
we've been using nagiosxi for a few years now. we originally deployed from the pre-built vm appliance that was offered by nagios. the guest os on the appliance is running centos 6, which as you probably know is end of life. what is nagios's suggestion for getting this into a current operating system? is there a migration option to a new, pre-configured appliance (with a supported operating system)? to my knowledge there is no way to perform an in-place upgrade of centos 6 to centos 7 or 8. please advise.
