Hello group
I wanted to know how to monitor a fortigate200E since I tried to monitor it by downloading the fortigate MIBs by entering them into nagios xi when monitoring it by snmp Walk I honestly don't know how to monitor it that it is more understandable what it is showing.
It would help me a lot to know how to monitor it correctly where what it shows is understandable

Hi,
Could you please provide the Fortigate MIBs file you are working with?
You can attach it to this message or PM it to me.
Thanks

Hi,
So what I did was take your MIB and load it in a MIB browser. The one I used can be downloaded for free,
it is the ManageEngine MibBrowser Free Tool, available at:
https://www.manageengine.com/products/m ... free-tool/
It turns out that the Browse tool couldn't load the Fortigate MIB without the INET-ADDRESS-MIB, so I downloaded that, I have attached it to this message.
Once I loaded both MIB files I drilled down to look for interesting items to monitor and it appears what you are looking for is in
the fnTrapsPrefix folder:

The description at the bottom of the right-hand pane helps to explain what can be monitored.
Thanks

Hi,
Can you please give me the results from "snmpwalk -v 2c localhost -c public" ?
You could send the output to a file and upload it here or pm it to me.
"snmpwalk -v 2c localhost -c public >> /tmp/walk.out"
Thanks!

Hi,
So the SNMPWalk wizard will limit you to the first 200 nodes (fields) it can find by default. You can change that
on page one of the SNMP wizard near the bottom of the page:
2021-04-12_1.jpg
So if you increase that number you will see more OIDS. You can increase it until you get all the OIDs.
Next you might want to monitor only some of the OIDs in order to be efficient. To do that you can identify
the ones you want to monitor and use them in the SNMP Wizard:
2021-04-12_2.jpg
Let me know how that works for you please.
Thank you

Hello
try to do it through snmp to enter each parameter
my question is
How to correctly define the parameters? To obtain a more understandable monitoring since it only shows me the corresponding image
I already uploaded the mibs of my fortigate, so that each one works but it will not be how to define it

Please send me your system profile so I can see how you have the service defined so far.
To send us your system profile.
1. Login to the Nagios XI GUI using a web browser.
2. Click the "Admin" > "System Profile" Menu
3. Click the "Download Profile" button
4. Save the profile.zip file and share this a private message and then reply to this post to bring it up in the queue.
Thanks
