Hi Nagios Support,

I have a question pertaining to Nagios Licensing. Before I proceed, let me provide some background information.

What I intend to do:

1. Add another Nagios XI server.
2. Split the load between my current Nagios XI server and the new Nagios XI server.

My current Nagios XI server has the Nagios Enterprise License with unlimited number of hosts.

The Question:

With my current Nagios license, will I incur additional costs if I were to add a second Nagios XI server? Also, by adding an additional Nagios XI server, are there any performance related issue that I should be aware of?

I've reached out to our sales team and they will be contacting you shortly to help answer the licensing questions. And as far as performance issues, the new server would not impact existing monitoring but will help by decreasing the check load on the current server.

I currently have one nagios server in my organization. Im planning to split the load between another server for this instance, so we would have 2 nagios servers. Would i be able to use the same licensing for the 2nd nagios node?

Hello Joash,

For this use case, you would need an additional license. Your current license allows for production, test and backup, so only 1 system can be deployed for active monitoring.
