Hello There,

We are changing IP Address of our NLS Servers. We have 2 servers in cluster.

Apart from updating the IP Address in "/usr/local/nagioslogserver/var/cluster_hosts", what other steps to be kept in mind for this change?

Thank You!!

Hi,

Updating the /usr/local/nagioslogserver/var/cluster_hosts files will take care of the servers. Make sure to restart the elasticsearch service after.

But you need to check all the machines that are sending their files to the Nagios Log Server, as it is likely that they were configured
to use the Nagios Log Server's ips and not their hostnames.

Thanks

We have a DNS entry created for VIP to which all the servers are configured to send logs to. I highly doubt we configured any server to send logs to IP Address.

I am guessing as long as DNS is resolving to correct IP Address and hostname, we should be good. Is that a fair assumption?

Hi,

Yes that is correct. Sounds like you are good to go and have implemented your networking
in a smart fashion.

Thanks
