Hello,

We are in the process of moving our current production NagiosXI VM to another VM(Different IPs) and was trying to locate the best process for this.

If we create a backup of the current VM and restore the new VM using the backup, will we be able to run both of the VMs using the same license key temporarily until we disable the old VM? Also we have several windows agents that are reporting to our current Nagios XI, Is there a way to update the agents to look for the new IP ?

Each Nagios XI license is approved for up to three installations: one primary monitoring/production, one backup/failover, and one test environment. So you can perform your migration to a "test" server that once configured will become your new production server.

Regarding the Windows agents, updating them is pretty much a manual process - you are going to have to look at each agent to see what needs to change, it may be the HOSTADDRESS in the command, it could be the nsclient.ini file on the Windows machine,etc.
