SMTP mail failing to connect

Hello All,

I am trying to configure the SMTP settings under "Email Settings". When I configured it the first time, it worked fine. We decided to create a dedicated account on our email server for Nagios. I then updated the SMTP settings to reflect the appropriate information. When trying to send a test email, it is failing to connect and hangs the web ui until it times out. I have checked phpmailer.log and mail.log. Neither of those provide any useful information. The phpmailer.log just says it cannot connect. There is no indication as to why. I am able to telnet from the host to our mail server and send an email, so the configuration is correct. I also tried changing the SMTP settings back to what had worked previously and I get the same problem now with it as well. I'm thinking the configuration has been corrupted. Is there a way I can see the actual configuration?

Thanks,
-G

Hello All,

I just realized that there are other parts of the software that are unstable as well. There is a lot of random hanging in the web gui and configuration changes are not being saved. There is no sense in debugging the email issue at this point.

Sorry for the noise,
-G

Once you have a good stable working system, please create a new forum ticket if new issue(s) arrived.
