Hi,

How can we provide access (other than admin access) to any user to schedule the downtime for any device/server??

Hi @kalyanpabolu,

The permissions in XI are based on contact associations, so they would only be able to schedule downtime on those objects they are a contact on.

For user accounts, you can widen the scope in the user's athorization ( enable Can see all hosts and services ), go to Admin > Users > Manage Users > Security Settings.

Let me know if that works for you.

Regards,
Benjamin

Hi Benjamin,

I have enabled "Can see all hosts and services" for the user, but user is not able to schedule the downtime for the hosts and services. PFA the screenshot, user is not getting any option to schedule the downtime.

Hi,

The only way I can replicate that on my system is if I enable "Read-only access", there should be a blue 'Schedule Downtime" button, Make sure read-only is not enabled.

Can you send over a screenshot of the user security settings, the name of the user, and a system profile? Thanks, Benjamin

To send us your system profile
Login to the Nagios XI GUI using a web browser.
Click the "Admin" > "System Profile" Menu
Click the "Download Profile" button

Hi Benjamin,

It's working after disabling the Read-Only Access. Thank you for your support.

HI,

Excellent! Glad that took care of it.
