NPCD is not running post upgrade.

NPCD service will not start after upgrade to

nagios (pid 1723) is running...
NPCD not running.
ndo2db (pid 1742) is running...
CPU Load 15: 2.70
Total Hosts: 129
Total Services: 1999
Function 'get_base_uri' returns: http://192.168.101.140/nagiosxi/
Function 'get_base_url' returns: http://192.168.101.140/nagiosxi/
Function 'get_backend_url(internal_call=false)' returns: http://192.168.101.140/nagiosxi/include ... rofile.php
Function 'get_backend_url(internal_call=true)' returns: http://localhost/nagiosxi/backend/

Can you run the following and report output

tail /usr/local/nagios/var/npcd.log

can you run the following and then re-tail the log to see if it changes.

Scott,

I can get the NPCD daemon to start if I enter these commands:

mkdir -p -m 775 /var/nagiosramdisk/spool/perfdata
mkdir -p -m 775 /var/nagiosramdisk/spool/xidpe

Please see the last page of the Ram Disk document which was updated a couple weeks ago to address this possibility

Scott,

Thanks for your help.

I reinstalled Nagios XI because the trial period was about to end and we're still evaluating the product. I'll try not to screw it up this time. :lol:
