Email notifications

Hi,
I have a stage issue with email notifications. I'm currently using Nagios Core 3.2.3.
For some reason when I receive an automatic email notification the subject line shows the alias of the host & not the actual host name as I would expect to see. However if I send a "custom service notification" for the same host the email notification received is correct.
Has anyone come across this issue before or could offer any assistance.
