Event handler

Hi,

we have successfully configured the event handler to do various things, from a restart, to the start of various tasks.

However, something very inconvenient remains because if the check goes to critical it is not clear from the Nagiosxi dashboard if the event handler has been run and if a service has the event handler.

Yes sure, I can see from the "Service Attributes" Event Handler. It doesn't seem like enough.

Is there no solution to this annoyance?

Best regards,
-F

Hi

You could send out an email when the even handler fires.

Please take a look at: https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios-XI.pdf

It includes an example of sending an email beginning on page 13.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks!

Hi Smith,

Ok.

But there is no chance to see that it starts running after a critical from dashbord.
Sending an email is fine, but you have to be careful if you receive an email.
A technician cannot know from the dashboard if an event handler is running.
This seems to me a great management limitation.

Thanks

Hi

Take a look at this result from the Exchange:
https://exchange.nagios.org/directory/A ... Interfaces

There may be something useful there. It looks like Nagex uses event handlers as a trigger. I haven't looked
too closely at each item but wanted to make you aware that there may already be a solution out there.

Thanks
