Change OS from CentOS to Ubuntu

Post by gcrodaje »

Hi Team,

I have several question regarding our Nagios core.
Because CentOS will be discontinued this December 2021, what will happen to NAGIOS up-to this point?
Can we change the operating system to Ubuntu if possible and do you have some notes/instructional guide to do so?
If we will change the OS, what we need to backup (like monitoring logs of NAGIOS, config, etc.)?
Is “# sed -i 's/SELINUX=.*/SELINUX=disabled/g' /etc/selinux/config” disabling SELinux applicable in Ubuntu?

Hi,

You can install Core on a variety of Linux distributions. I would recommend following our instructions on the page below.

https://support.nagios.com/kb/article/n ... ce-96.html

On a plain vanilla install, you would just need to copy over the configs. But that depends on if you have any other addons installed.

Hope that helps,
Benjamin
