Hi Team,

We have some filesystem which is in cluster mode. Can we know how to monitor these filesystem so that we are always monitoring the filesystem in active node?

Hi Preethu,

I just want to make sure we understand the problem you are trying to solve correctly. You have systems in an active/passive configuration sharing a filesystem and you want to monitor the filesystem through the system that is active state -- is that correct ? Also what type of systems are these and how are they mounting the filesystem ?

Thanks and Best Regards,
Keith

Hi Keith,

Wish you a very happy new year.
Yes, you are correct. These are LVM filesystems managed by cluster packages. Based on cluster status these filesystems moves to active node.

Preethu

Hi Preethu,

Thank you - Happy New Year to you as well.

Is this Linux LVM or another Logical Volume Management system ? What operating system are you running on the devices that are mounting the filesystems ?

If you can monitor through a shared Virtual IP address (VIP) that is often the easiest way to solve the problem however check_cluster might also be a good way to go as well. Please find below links to our documentation on monitoring service and host clusters along with the manual page for the check_cluster plugin.
