Nagios Core 4.4.6 - replacing self-signed certificate

I would like to replace the self-signed certificate for Nagios Core 4.4.6, with a wildcard certificate instead. The Nagios admin server is a RHEL 7.9 system.
- Does anyone have any experience doing this?
- Are there steps I need to take, to avoid breaking Nagios (it is currently monitoring a number of production servers already, and I would like to minimize disruption/downtime)
- Do I need to do anything on the client production servers that Nagios is currently monitoring?
