Nagios on VMware on a Virtual Machine

Good day
We have a Virtual Machine hosted by an a online provider, we have installed VMware Workstation Pro 16 on the Virtual Machine, and we have imported the Nagios OVA onto Vmware. but we have been having a lot of problems, we cannot increase any of the resources for Nagios then the system will not boot.
Our underlying VM that has VMware installed has 12x CPU's and 32GB of RAM so I can spare enough resources to allocate to Nagios on VMWare, but every day we have to restart our underlying VM then start Nagios in order for it to work.
Is this an advisable way to run Nagios? as we thought it might have been the underlying VM so we have created a new server and downloaded a fresh Nagios XI OVA and still facing the same problem.
Can someone please advise if we can run our setup like this? or the recommended way to run it, as we do not have a physical server to install Vmware on and run Nagios, we online have Virtual Machines with Windows Server OS on.
