Nagios Maintaince Mode

Hi!
Some time I have to restart or change the network cable of Nagios server and after the change is completed then I get all the alerts related to device recovery.
Is there some single place where I can make the change so that it will not send any alerts if I am replacing network cable of the Nagios Server.
