We are curious on if we could benefit from using fusion as are main login, and can see the obvious benefits of the user management and 10,000 foot view.
We would like to have as much functionality in this server to reduce as much load as possible from users directly interacting with our XI servers.

Is it possible to do BPI from Fusion?
Is it possible to do Server/Service reports from Fusion?
Is it possible to drill down into servers/services through Fusion without going into one of the XI instances?

I would have simply hit up the Fusion Demo, but its slightly broken right now.

Essentially, we would LOVE an XI frontend that was not dependent on the nagios install behind it.
We have glitches on our Helpdesk displays when we apply, and do not like the additional load on the same machine when we have 50+ people on it.
If we get load spikes from nagios, it affects the users. If we get load spikes from the users, it affects nagios.

Just curious on what all is already in Fusion, and what all is being planned.

Not quite yet, but it's one of the first items on the component roadmap.

Not yet, but Fusion 2012 was built for extensibility so that we can easily create new components and grab whatever we want from the XI interfaces, so it could definitely be done.

Is it possible to drill down into servers/services through Fusion without going into one of the XI instances?

Not currently, you can add single host/service status dashlets to a dashboard, but if you want the full details the drill down does take the user into the XI interface.

All status data from each Nagios server is polled at a regular interval and cached locally for Fusion, so having 50+ users for Fusion wouldn't affect the Nagios servers for that part. However, the Alert Histogram is pulled on the fly. Your scenario does reveal a good reason to move everything towards the local caching method, because then it really wouldn't matter how many simultaneous users there are, the tax on the Nagios servers would still be the same...
