We've been slowly trying to migrate to NagiosXI and we're unsure how to solve this problem. We are trying to automate the tracking of disks on a server. We understand the basic service setup for disk monitoring using NCPA and can create these services with the API. The issue we're running into is two-fold
1. Monitoring multiple disks on the same service
2. Dynamically monitoring the disks on a server.
I've found some things to attempt for #1, but in regards to #2: What are large enterprise solutions method of keeping track of disks that are added after the fact? What is Nagios' best suggested way of doing it? Firing off an API script to add it?
How does your organization ensure that a disk/partition addition isn't missed?
