Hi, I would like to install Nagios XI onto Win7. The challenge is I'm new to Nagios and Windows server!

Having read what I need in order to install this on my Win7 box, ...I'm a bit confused.

The nagios XI download page provides a link to - Microsoft virtual machine running CentOS 6.x with Nagios XI 2011.
Notes at the bottom of the page say;
"You'll need to have either VirtualPC or Virtual Server to run the Microsoft virtual machine..."

I click the Virtual PC link which takes me to 'Windows XP mode' download page.

I've downloaded Windows XP mode, and that says I need 'Windows Virtual PC'.

So I need Virtual PC to run a Win XP mode, to run Virtual Server to run Virtual Machine to run Nagios. geeez... :?

Cheers
M,

As far as I am aware you can just use the regular Virtual PC, no special downloads required because the VM is going to be running CentOS Linux.

When you say Virtual PC, is that something other than...
"A Microsoft virtual machine running CentOS 6.x with Nagios XI 2011" ?

Thanks
