dumb question. How do I find the version number for nagiosxi?

Not a dumb question, so don't feel bad. The version number can be seen in the lower left side of the Nagios XI footer. It is in the format of "Nagios XI2009R1.x". Hope that helps.

To get very specific information about the version, you can read the xiversion file on the command line
