Question about issue with IE 8

Hello,

Having an issue with IE8, this is a major issue that could stop my company from purchasing NagiosXI.

Here is what happening.

When we go into the Core Config to setup lets say a new user, when we click on the modify button to add a contact group. The normal pop up screen to allow the choice of groups does not happen. Here is what happens, this comes up at the bottom of the screen below the save and abort buttons. I have attached an image of whats happening.

I have checked the settings on IE and I cant seem to find what could be causing the issue. Any Ideas or thoughts on what could be causing this. I dont have this issue with Firefox, but Firefox is not a standard, so using it is not an option.

Thanks,

Wayne

Have you tried using the compatibility mode? Are you observing the same behavior?
We recommend using Firefox, but since you have to use IE, is there any option for you at least to upgrade to IE 9?

Yes we have tried compatibility mode no luck. IE 9 is not an option yet.

Is there some setting in IE 8 we need to adjust. I am seeing this issue on 4 other machines, so its not just on my computer.

This is a problem is IE and their lack of compliance with CSS and JS standards.

The good news is that in the 2012 version of Nagios XI due out VERY soon, the CCM has been re-written and this will no longer a factor.

Additionally, while it doesn't look pretty in IE, all of the functionality is still there.

I am now having problems with 2012v1.2 and various portions of the interface in IE9.

AND... do NOT give us crap about IE compliance with standards... this problem appears to be the use of CSS3, NON-ACCEPTED, standards, which firefox and chrome call 'generally used'.. but are NOT standard. If CSS/HTML5 REAL standards were adhered to, this should not be a problem.

If you run IE 9 in compatibility mode does the problem go away?
