Windows 2003 server event logs

Hello all. I am giving the nagiosxi a full test run to replace our current monitoring software. Everything has been fairly straight forward except monitoring the windows event logs. I am using the 32 demo vmware image that appears to be up to date. I have enable traffic in the xinitd.d/ncsa file and restarted the service. I had to disable to the firewall (or make an exception) on the centOS virtual server which i did by installing sysconfig-network-firewall. When I installed the client on the windows 2003 32bit server, it installed but with errors about a c++ issue. Read through some info in another forum which said to install a couple of dll's which did not fix my issue. I rolled back to the 1.8.3 on the client and the install worked fine. I have enabled ncsa in the nagios incoming connections and I have verified that the password and the encryption are the same for both the client and server. If I click on the test button on the client machine it says that communication is successful. But neither system or test events make it to the nagios server. Is there a step I am missing someplace?

thanks
Trichmon

trichmon,

Have you checked your unconfigured objects to see if the passive checks have been recieved?

Here's a document that describes that in some detail
