How does one go about monitoring NICs (utilization/bandwidth/errors) on hosts (both windows (N++ agent) and linux (SNMP))?? Also, I need to be able to add this to already created hosts...

Could you give examples of the equipment you are looking to monitor specifically? The best way to go about this would most likely be using SNMP to fetch the data, if you provide an example we should be able to better help find you a solution.

The ethernet interfaces of Dell servers with either Windows 2008 (teamed/vlan'ed using nic mfg software) or CentOS 5/6 (bonded interfaces eth0 and 1) as the OS. PS: about a thousand servers, so doing this in mass is a must
