Trying to add new linux server fails

Post by itutd »

Nagios XI 2011R2.4
Trying to add Linux server fails with 'Configuration Verification Fails"
When I try to "Write Config Files" in Core Manager I get this?
Error: Could not find a service matching host name 'ecweb0104p-bk.utd.com' and description 'Tomcat' (config file '/usr/local/nagios/etc/serviceescalations.cfg', starting on line 14)
Error: Could not expand services specified in service escalation (config file '/usr/local/nagios/etc/serviceescalations.cfg', starting on line 14)
Error processing object config files!

The server that I was trying to configure "ecweb0104-bk" does not run tomcat. I noticed that in "core config" there are entries in Hosts and Servcices for this Servers, but the server does not show up in Nagios Xi Views Hosts or Services?

Thanks in advance
