Connect to existing cluster - could not generate node_uuid

Post by smittycsi »

the exact error is
could not generate node_uuid - check file permissions
I have created a new centos stream9 to join the existing cluster and i had tested this in the lab and ran into the same issue
Am I wrong or is there a file that says you are only allowed 1 node which will stop you from joining the cluster?
I have read all the previous posts and tried the mv /usr/local/nagioslogserver/var/node_uuid /usr/local/nagioslogserver/var/node_uuid.old
systemctl restart elasticsearch but still same issue thanks in advance

When you were attempting to join to an existing cluster were you doing that from the initial screen at http://ip.address/nagioslogserver/install, after doing the fullinstall command? Or someplace else. I'm trying to figure out where the relevant issue should be written. Thanks much!
