I've been troubleshooting an issue with notifications using an event handler for my passive services.

During this work I notices that the only way to validate the "is_volatile" setting for a service (v1 API) is to use the config->service endpoint and filter on the possibility that the key may be present in the result for a service.

Is it possible to get this field "is_volatile" added to the output for for the objects->service endpoint?

I agree this sounds like a reasonable enhancement to the API, and I've gone ahead and logged a feature request for this in our internal tracking system. I don't have an estimate at this point of when this will be added to a new release, but keep an eye on the changelog here for more updates: https://www.nagios.com/changelog/
